THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA
The Republic of Uganda is one of the three East African countries covers an area of 236,040 sq.km and estimation of 27,616,000 people, bordered on the north by Sudan, east by Kenya on the west by the Democratic Republic of Congo, on the south by Tanzania and on the southwest by Rwanda. The country is landlocked achieved its name from the Buganda kingdom.
Uganda became an independent Nation in 1962 and led by the late Milton Obote as Prime Minister at that time before overthrew the constitution and became President.
CAPITAL CITY
Kampala with the nearest famous city of Entebbe located in the south, near Lake Victoria.
THE NILE RIVER
Uganda also has several rivers most important of which is the River Nile, one of the World's longest rivers whose source is Lake Victoria and stretches all the way to Egypt pouring into the Mediterranean Sea.
WILDLIFE
Uganda like Rwanda is very famous for its endangered Gorilla dominated in the Mountainous and the Chimpanzee. Gorillas in East Africa are only found in Uganda other parts include the neighbor countries of Democratic Republic of Congo and Republic of Rwanda.
CULTURE
While Tanzania removed all the chiefdom leadership in Tabora, Chagga and Iringa in Uganda, five traditional Bantu kingdoms have remained, enjoying some degrees of mainly cultural autonomy. The kingdoms are Ankole, Toro, Busoga, Bunyoro and Buganda.

Ugandan Shilling. UGX.
It is advisable to carry American dollars, Euro, or Pounds. Travellers cheques are exchangeable in some places. Major credit cards are accepted in the larger hotels.
LANGUAGE
The official language of Uganda is English and Kiswahili followed by Luganda for the people living in cities and major towns. More than forty different languages are regularly and currently in use.
RELIGION
The predominant religion is Christians and Muslims, while others include Judaism and Hindus.
