Arusha Park
       

Arusha National Park is located in East of Arusha town about 30 minutes drive. Before the park was very popular for its Africa black rhinoceroses but due to illegal hunting it's now possible to view them in Ngorongoro crater and Selous game reserve.

The park is divided mainly in three different places: the Ngurdoto crater, Momela lakes and Mountain Meru.

The Momela lakes and Ngurdoto crater accommodates different numbers of birds including the flamingoes and pelican in great view. The black and white colobus monkeys are the shinning star of the park.

Other animals dwell in the park include lions, giraffes, elephants, gerenuk, buffaloes, hyena and klipspringer.

Varieties of tropical snakes, chameleons, alligators, tortoise and turtles display at close range at the reptile and snake farm. 

Walking safari around the park is one of the few places in Tanzania that offers this service. Watch the elephants and buffaloes at the close range accompanied by full armed warden rangers. Also as you trek the Mount Meru the warden escorts you to this three days roundtrip to the mountain 4566 m above the sea level.

Tarangire National Park is an excellent place to view wildlife during any season. Located about 120 km and two hours drive along the Arusha – Dodoma road the park is adjacent to Manyara National Park. On the east bank of Lake Manyara, the Tarangire River crosses the park from north to south. Lamarkau to the south, Matete along the river and Burungi to the west are different circuits.

The Tarangire River has permanent waters which makes the Animals to migrate from Manyara to seek water in Tarangire River. If you are lucky you will witness the python climbing tree which is one of the spectacular views of Tarangire.

The acacia and baobabs trees are the common vegetation to the park of which elephants rely on the baobabs trees during the dry season which stores more than 300 liters.

Large herds of zebras, wildebeests, hartebeests and elephants and lions are easily visible until October, when they move to the lush grasslands of the Northeast. Elands, Lesser Kudus, Gazelles, Giraffes and Waterbucks are seen year round.

Over 300 bird species have been recorded.  Ranger accompanied walking safaris around the Tarangire and a night game drive can be arranged.

 

Lake Manyara National Park achieved its name from the Lake located inside the park. Comprises about 70% of the area the Lake accommodates resident and migrated birds more that 350 species are recorded including flamingoes, Egyptian gooses and pelicans. The hippo pool contains numerous hippopotamuses who feeds grasses during the night and relax in the pool the whole afternoon for cooling.

The park is located between the cliff of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara as well as between the Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro crater. The park is also famous for its acacia trees located near the game drive roads which Lions uses them for a nap.

Giraffes, elephants, zebras, monkeys and buffaloes are among the wildlife inhabit the park. The “MAJI MOTO” hot water springs at Endabash area adds to another natures wonders waiting to be witnessed in this Rift valley Park.  

Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It's called the eight wonder of the World where the crater show never stops. Antelopes, Zebras and wildebeest happily grazing on the crater floor but well alert for a chase from Lion, Cheetah or Leopard. A scenic view of pink flamingoes on the Lake to the Hippo pool. The conservation comprises of Ngorongoro crater, Mountain Ol'doinyo Lengai, Empakai crater, Oldupai Gorge and Ndutu.

The Ngorongoro crater is located about 192 kilometers (four hours drive) from Arusha town. At 1600 meters alt, the bottom of the crater (265 sq.km) accommodating almost 30000 animals in an area enclosed by the slopes of the volcano and located in the Great Rift Valley.

The walls of Ngorongoro crater have stayed intact from years after explosion of volcano making a fancy looking during ascending and descending to this caldera. Most of the books have documented it as a crater but scientifically is a formation of a caldera. Other wildlife inhabit in the crater floor are elephants, gazelles, elands, endangered black Africa rhino, hyena and jackal.

The famous walking safari to Maasai land with donkeys accompanied with Maasai warriors and a trek to Mountain Ol'doinyo Lengai (The mountain of GOD as well know to Maasai community).

Drive to Oldupai Gorge visit the paleontology museum where the Australopithecus Boisei's skeleton was discovered by Dr. Leakey and his family. This ancestor of man is millions of years old and believed to be the first man in the World.

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK: Don't miss the extraordinary view of the Serengeti Great animal kingdom migration of wildebeests searching for the green pastures and water to Masai Mara in Kenya. The best season of the year to see migration is from December to May in the south of the park and June though October to the west (Western Corridor) and to the north.

Serengeti National Park is one of the World largest parks with numerous concentrations of wild animals. Being famous for its plain land stretches hundred of kilometers and dotted by scattered trees, the park achieved its name from Maasai people inhabit the area. Originally the name was “Siringet” which means an endless plain but later documented as Serengeti.

This is five hours drive from Arusha town or 1hr 30min charter flight. National Park accommodates various types of flora and fauna. The vegetation goes to grassy plains, savannah with acacias, mountains and wooded hills. The animals found in the park include, zebras, lions, leopards, cheetahs, topi, giraffes, hundreds of crocodiles in the Grumeti River and many more.

Exit Serengeti to the Lake Victoria which is the source of waters in River Nile to Mwanza city. One can pay a visit to the Rubondo National Park located on an island in the middle of the
