Mountain Elgon is the 4 th highest mountain in East Africa with an altitude of 4,321 meters. It is an extinct volcano located in the eastern part of Uganda and on the boarder with Kenya. The mountain is said to have one of the largest surface area of any extinct volcano in the world and is prepared with cliffs caves of the mountain.
Day 1: Depart Kampala earl in the morning and travel through Uganda's green undulating countryside to the Sipi Falls Camp stop en route for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the rest camp.
Day 2: Full day to explore this dramatic coutryside. We will visit the Forest Exploration Center at Kapkwai in the Chebonet valley and take the Mountain Bamboo Trail traversing a 7 km loop across the river and to the southern rim of the gorge. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the rest camp.
Day 3: After breakfast, we'll take a full day in the Sasa Trail to see the dramatic landscapes from the high altitude heath and moorland. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the rest camp.
Day 4: After breakfast there will be time for a short before we depart for Kampala, returning late in the afternoon.
